Hormone levels, balances & patterns
Instead of treating labels such as 'menopause' or the symptoms associated with it, we need to treat the hormonal causes that fuel these symptoms, within an individual woman's context.
The word 'menopause' doesn't signify a process or even a state, it simply means the last naturally occurring menstrual period. The 'change' involves a transition from being naturally estrogenized by the hormones of the ovaries to becoming estrogen depleted. In order to menstruate the body must generate a certain threshold level of estrogen, then withdraw from it once a month. Symptoms experienced at the change are driven by several hormonal processes including dips in estradiol & testosterone & subsequent depletion's in both of these hormones. Dipping differs from deficiency, so balances & patterns are both equally important. Symptomatic care is bad care.
