Tailored, personalized care
Personalized care needs more than a progressive attitude; it requires sophisticated knowledge & experience.
In 2015 the U.S president called for a precision-based form of healthcare. However some 5 years previously I had already reserved this precision-HRT web-site, so the need for precision in medicine is nothing new & is both critical & obvious. Ironically however, although personalized care is highly desirable, that is not the direction in which medicine has been going. As healthcare becomes cheapened, de-medicalized & reinvented using a business-model instead of a medical model, the focus moves from quality to costs, bureaucracy eats up at least a third of costs, & insurance company CEO salaries skyrocket. Medicine is going in the opposite direction to medical science. Socialist models promote the idea that everyone can have it but it becomes less & less worth having. Of course we cannot each have our own uniquely dedicated personal medical doctor but we can at least exploit modern models to approximate the idea of personal care, with real experts instead of bean-counters supervising, interpreting, analyzing & designing them.
